Job Title: Systems Administrator I

Reporting to: Business Technology Manager
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide front-line technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. This role involves day-to-day issue remediation, user account management, system performance monitoring, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures. The Systems Administrator will also assist in the implementation of new technologies and system upgrades.
Responsibilities:
- Provide level 1 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, including:
- Microsoft 365 suite of applications
- Software installations
- Building security badges and access management
- Password resets (including MFA)
- Salesforce issues and permissions
- Printer troubleshooting
- Basic network and connectivity issues
- Perform file restores and check backup integrity
- Monitor Windows server performance and perform server maintenance
- Manage user accounts, including onboarding and offboarding
- Setup new computers and peripherals at user’s workstations.
- Monitor IT security consoles and respond to alerts.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures
- Create and publish IT processes and procedures
- Train and support end-users on IT systems
- Assist with new technologies and system upgrades
- Work on call and off-business hours as needed
- Handle requests for new hardware and software approvals
- Install structured cabling, remediate power issues, and manage network design and expansion
- Other projects as assigned
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT desktop support or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows-based operating systems and Microsoft 365 business applications
- Experience with hardware deployment and troubleshooting, device drivers, anti-virus and VPN applications.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud-based authentication and management, using tools such Intune, Entra ID and Azure AD.
- Experience with user account management and IT security practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work on call and off-business hours as needed
- CompTIA and/or Microsoft certificates preferred

- Employee is required to use appropriate PPE including, but not limited to, nitrile or latex gloves, lab coat, hair bonnet, shoe covers, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shield, or respiratory mask while working in a lab or manufacturing space
- Employee may be required to lift heavy objects and operate ladders or lifts.
